The INFP Diary: Chapter 1

From now on, I will blog about days where I feel like my INFP traits really show
If any of you do not know what an INFP is, please take a look here: http://www.16personalities.com/infp-personality

In a nutshell, we are the true idealists. We believe in helping people, but despair in our ability (or lack thereof) to do so. We genuinely wish for world peace (although we know it isn't realistic) and we stick stubbornly by our morals and principles.  We can be creative as well. I guess what really makes us tick is when someone's actions isn't aligned with our principles? Especially those really important morals and values. Let me explain...

Ok, so one thing is that this customer was really friendly and we talked a lot whilst she was shopping and she asked for my number. and well I was just thinking "oh ok why not, another friend." although I can't really make friends and I was actually surprised (in a good way) she wanted to be my friend. So I thought there was no harm in it. So when I went back into the office, my mentors told me I shouldn't have given her my number. In their experience, people like these will try to ask favours from you, like getting items at a discounted rate etc. I didn't really think much into it at first I just thought she was genuinely nice.

But THEY WERE RIGHT.

So when I turned on my WhatsApp there were messages from her and the last one read she wanted to get tops from the shop but she wants me to get it for her and meet her somewhere else. Basically it's for her convenience.

I'm really upset about it although I've already blocked her. Even if I do see her again at the store (I probably will) I won't be too friendly to her anymore. I think an important lesson I learnt here at work is to set a boundary between the customer and myself. Perhaps I was overly friendly and this is my fault. I was also really naive and unprofessional. Lesson learnt.

But what I'm really upset about is that she actually befriended me to get favours out of me. It's just really sad that people have to do that. To use other people to benefit only themselves. I don't understand and I will never understand.

Another thing today was that I bought 2 games from a person sorta, online. And the games did not work and I mailed them back to him. He apologised for it and offered a refund. That was really nice of him. However, it is almost 2 weeks since I mailed back the items and till date I have not received a refund. My messages were ignored and he practically went MIA on me.

What I'm so bothered with is not the fact that he didn't give me a refund, but the fact that he didn't even bother to give me a definite answer on whether he is planning on a refund. There is no closure and I'm just waiting for nothing. It's not about the money, to me it is a basic courtesy for him to at least inform me his decision to refund. I just need a closure but I'm not getting any and I don't think I'm getting any. Doing this is torture for me compared to an unprocessed refund.

As a result of these 2 things, I'm feeling incredibly down and upset today. I feel like I'm really idealistic and expect everyone to be led by morals and values, to help people and to treat them right. On such days I always question myself, doubt myself and feel stupid for always trusting the good, or believing in the good in people (if any). But I really can't help not being this idealistic.

In my life, there have been countless nights where I weep at night over the cruelties of human nature, reality, my inability to not care so much and stop being naive. Everytime I cry a voice inside still says: But what's so wrong with believing in the good in people?

I guess tonight will be one of those nights.

Arslan Senki is one badass anime

Spring 2015 anime has already been ongoing for awhile, and I've been watching these titles: Owari no Seraph Nisekoi S2 Shokugeki no Soma Arslan Senki Plastic Memories Ore Monogatari Out of all of these, I would have to say that Arslan Senki is my favourite!  Ok with as little spoilers as possible... Arslan is the prince and apparent heir of the throne in the undefeated Kingdom of Pars. His father, King Andragoras, is the king known to have led his army to victory at every war, making his army formidable and seemingly without equal. But of course, going undefeated makes the kingdom and the king full of themselves and eventually led to a crushing defeat in the war against Lusitania. The king is nowhere to be found and the kingdom of Pars is just about to be invaded by the swarming armies of Lusitania.  Also, a little of backdrop, Lusitania is a country which believes in a god (forgot the name) and abhors the idea of slavery. Their religion speaks of ...

Fully Redeemed by His Blood

It has been a few years since I last wrote a post. You could say I was Spirit-led to my old blog - perhaps to recall the negativity, nonchalance, and frustrations of my teenage years, which I now find difficult to remember.  Why can't I remember them despite having written many posts about my emotions, as a way to process them? Because I have been redeemed by God. For the past 2 years, God worked in me and brought me out of my misery, a misery I thought would never get out of.  Today - about 3, 4 years since my last update - I write to share that my life has changed for the better. In fact, it is fantastic.  I can now breathe.  I laugh freely with much less fear of what is to come.  I have hope. I have dreams. I am no longer lonely. I am feeling more complete than ever with God.  It sounds too good to be true. But IT IS. It is what it is. It's too good, but it's true.  If you're having doubts, I understand you. I used to be a skeptic. I hated Christian...

The INFP Diary: Chapter 2

So tonight on my way back from work, I guess I was tired and wanted to stare into space for awhile. But not really that kinda stare into space. It's those kind of daydreaming in which you are still aware of your surroundings. In fact, you notice the surroundings more.   On the train, I was staring out the window. With my earphones on, I was essentially in my own world. As the train trailed past buildings, I found myself marvelling at the beauty of 'sceneries' created by buildings and the lights they each bear. That moment, I was reminded of Final Fantasy X and the Zanarkand cut scenes. and then suddenly I realised how good Square Enix's graphics are to resemble reality so much.   The same was happening while I was taking the bus back. I guess we never really took a good look at our surroundings because we are all so tired and so absorbed into whatever we are doing. It's through daydreaming that I can tell that I'm finally relaxing. Usually I am stre...
